Someone Is Not Doing Their Job

Yes, this is a picture of our first snow. And yes, those are leaves under that snow in the front yard. And since I live in a condo, someone else is supposed to be raking those leaves BEFORE it snows.

The only reason I rake the leaves out of my backyard flower beds myself is so nobody else stomps, tramples or squishes all my plants. I prefer to do all the squashing myself. And no I did not take a picture of the back. There’s nothing of interest back there, nothing for you to see, and anyhow, this is about the front yard and SOMEONE ELSE not doing THEIR job.

I love to see snow because we seldom get snow in Georgia. I can't imagine having it before SOMEONE had raked the leaves!!! It was 34 degrees here this a.m. but nice & warm and clear this afternoon.

Hey I didn't want to see that snow cause I have to rake those leaves hiding under that white stuff and also have to clean the gutters one more time. See there is something to that condo living. P.s. you should see Mentor along route 20. They had at least two in. and counting. Nice to live next to the lake at this time of year. Middle sis

Mildred,
I'm sure you're going to be seeing a lot of snow pictures from your blogging buddies. You'll probably get just as tired looking at it as we do:)

Betty,
It's only good in the condo if they do what they're supposed to, otherwise we end up doing it ourselves too.
I don't know what they got up on Euclid Ave. but probably more than we did, too.

The designated raker better get busy or they will be frozen to the ground;)

It makes for a picture and subject of interest. Without the leaves, this would just be a post about snow and not about sloth and snow.

As for the snow, better you than me. We had big, fat flakes that melted almost as soon as they hit the ground.

We've rain today, and unless the end of the world is at hand, it's not likely it'll turn to snow anytime soon (Yeaaah HOUSTON!)

Our leaves aren't showing many signs that they want to fall off the trees yet either. I think some of the trees ended up putting on new leaves after the hurricane, and they're just not sure what season of the year it is...oh well.

Marnie,
Too late.

rudee,
When it comes to raking, shoveling and a few other things, I've been described as sloth-like.

Nancy,
You did notice that in one sentence you brag about no snow, but in the next you mention hurricane, right? :)

i'm not doing my job either. i'm pretending both the snow and the leaves are not there.

i think my neighbors should rake the leaves anyway, that's where they came from.

Ack! Snow already? It seems like the leaves under the snow thing happens every couple of years here. What I truly hate is the leaves on top of the snow. That's just depressing. (The word verification is "nuffsbun.")

flydragon-Why don't you move down here where you don't have to put up with the snow. Of course you will need to bring lots of mosquito repellent with you. Oh and lots of boxes to hold all those empty bottles of repellent! Ha

Eeeeps! Snow?!? But, I'm not ready for snow! At least the grass has that nice layer of insulating leaves to keep it warm under that snow. (See how I found the silver lining for you? You can thank me later.)

We didn't get snow but it sure was cold enough. Liberty is right below the snow belt. As of today, my petunias were still blooming. I took a picture yesterday but I have to wait for Gloria to come home from Columbus, because I'm not computer literate enough to send a picture. I've been shown how to but I have too much other junk to remember. Remember when you didn't have to remember s___? I love the snow (OK, I'm wierd and illiterate) it's beautiful.

Hey, in our condo, a new neighbour called up the council members and asked when they would come and wipe off his balcony. This was after a small snowfall. They soon set him straight, since ours is a self managed building. And no one was going to go and clean up his balcony.

So to us, a few leaves are not that bad. LOL

I'm sure they just weren't expecting a snow this early. Like some other people I know. :) The good news is the snow will melt and the leaves will still be there waiting to be raked. Probably in the flower beds too.

nvam,
If you wait long enough, maybe they'll all blow back out, but I doubt it. Never seems to work that way.

MMD,
For some unknown reason it happens every year in my yard:) nuffsbun? I like it.

susie,
so you've figured out a use for empty repellent cans, have you?

DG,
Is your glass always half full instead of half empty? Mind sending me that glass? Thanks.

Hi Di,
I always knew you were weird, but liking snow is just plain crazy. I can't believe your petunias are still going.

Jen,
A lot of times, ours is also self managed:)

beckie,
The snow did melt overnight, and you're right, the leaves are still there. And son of a gun, there are leaves in the flower beds. I wonder how they got there.

Oldcrow,
Fortunately that snow melted, but I guess we're due for some more on Sunday. Can hardly wait:(
