Hey, She Likes It !!

She first showed up last Tuesday and has been here every day since, which is unheard of in my backyard in June. If that's not a woohoo I don't know what is.
So...WOOHOO !!!!!!!

That's a big deal. Must be all the hot air over there. Congrats on drawing a returning hummingbird. And hey, great pictures!

Yah..Hoo That was a Minnesota accent just in case you did not recognize it! If you got one showing up, she will soon tell all her friends!! Better save up for some more sugar! :)

Hey! Why do you still have my feeder hanging up? That better be a duplicate and the real one packaged and already heading my way.

Woohoo! I finally got around to putting my hummer feeders up, after getting buzzed repeatedly by angry hummers while weedind the flower beds last week. They are masters of negative reinforcement training, those little hummers.

I don't blame her. That has to be the cutest feeder in the neighborhood. Maybe she will nest nearby.

Definitely a loud WOO-HOO! Do you know how long I've waited to get a decent hummingbird photo? Life just isn't fair:)

Nice photos and it looks like fun to get to see them everyday. I have never tried a feeder, but would like to.

I better get my assets in gear and get myself a hummingbird feeder or two soon! It won't be long and they'll be here looking for food. Granted, I do have a fair number of flowers, I wonder if they like what I've got?

Anyway, your Hummer there is absolutely beautiful! :)

Good on ya! You've got her attention, for sure. Hope she stays around for a long time!

Whoo-hoo is right, you have to be pretty darn fast with the camera to get shots like that. I could just see you now, falling asleep at the window, camera in hand, waiting and waiting for Miss Hummy to pay a little visit. Kudos! :D

Definitely icing on the cake. And a beautiful hummingbird feeder to boot!

Woohoo. I don't know what the wee bird is but its a cute one and the feeder lamp is even more so! Lucky you.

I am a first time visitor to your blog. I saw that you won the contest on Debbie Does Drivel's blog, so I decided to follow the link and check your site out.

I'm reading some of your previous posts as we speak and decided to get my comments started.

Hi Mildred,
Ha, and did I hear a southern WOOF HOOF over there, too??

Hey Jen,
I think I have a few old feeders sitting around here. Want one?:)

Susie,
You're happy, she's happy, and I'm certainly happy too:))

Rudee,
Ha, if it's hot air they like then they should be swarming all over you. Make your nose red, if it isn't already, and see:))

Farside,
I regonized it immediately:)
Five pounds of sugar sitting/waiting in my cupboard.
And you, who has hummers on dandelions, certainly has to have them on the rest of their flowers. Where's the pics???

Hi KALI,
Lovely birdie and feeder. Not sure about the other:)
And a happy belated birthday to you!!!

Deb,
That is indeed a replacement, because the real one is on it's way, addressed to Driviling Debbie, somewhere in Maine. I'm sure it will find you with no problem since EVERYONE seems to knows you!

nvam,
Lucky shots you mean, don't you?

DG,
Well it's about time!!!Poor little starving hummers. Rubbing it in are you, telling me about ALL of yours while I have just one?
(spiders, spiders)

Marnie,
I haven't seen a male around for quite a while so I'm not sure about the nesting nearby part:)

Rose,
And do you have any idea how long it took me to get this one:) I didn't think I got any of her at all until I put them on the computer, and there she was. I was surprised to say the least:)

Brenda,
You should give it a try. They're really fun to watch, especially when they chase each other all over the place, (if you have more than one of course, which I don't):))

Skye,
She's not colorful like the males, but she's a cutie anyway:)

Betty,
Me too!! But I'm sure she won't. Hopefully, she'll remember where it is (and show all her friends)when it's time to head south in the fall.

Di,
That's exactly what I was doing:) But you should have seen the mad scrambling around when she did show up. Tripping over my own feet, trying different windows to get a half way decent shot before I scared her away:))

Trout,
And maybe a little cherry on top of that icing:))

Hi Glinnis,
The wee bird is a hummingbird. And it certainly is wee:))
Thanks for stopping by, and I'm off to check out your blog, now.

Hi Constant,
Ah yes...I was the lucky??, winner??, loser?? on Deb's blog. But thanks for coming over anyhow:)

Great to see the birds at the new feeder.

OC,
The little male finally showed up, but the female had already left. He missed his chance:)

TC said...

Why are hummers so rare around your place? I see them regularly here, and don't have a single feeder.

Jan said...

Guess she has good taste. Love the feeder.

flydragon said...

TC,
Don't know why. My sister lives about 20 min. from me and she always has them too. Maybe it's just that they don't like me, sob sob. Nah, can't be that.

Jan,
Goes to show that her, mine, and your good taste is not limited to the tongue:))

aw, I enjoy seeing all the different birds. You taught me something with this post. I didn't realize what the black bratty birds were in my neighborhood until I saw your Grackle, and after doing some research and making some calls, I discovered they are Grackles too!!

Ha, There just might be hope left for me to learn something about birds!

Hope you are doing well.

Long time no post.. but you did leave me a comment so I know you are alive ..or were. I worry about you. Take Care of yourself! I did knock it off... that hospital was horrible. I am much better now. :)

flydragon said...

Hi Connie,
Yep, still alive at least till the end of this comment:)
One of the first things I got when I got home from the hospital was a form letter from them asking me to fill out a questionaire about how my stay was. Hope you got one of those so you could sound off about Dr. She Devil:)))
So glad you're home and feeling better!!!
