Cabin Fever

Since my car has now added 4 more inches to it’s thick blanket of ugly insulation I am still stuck at home, and in my boredom my thoughts have started to turn inward as in “Who am I”. Now I know that’s dangerous territory to be getting into, but cabin fever tends to do that, right before you go completely crazy and start trashing everything in sight.

So, who am I? No, I’m not asking you, I’m asking myself. I already know what you think by some of your sometimes candid, sometimes thinly veiled comments on various posts. At times you think I’m witchy, snotty, sarcastic, uncaring, a bit lacking in the personality department, and that sometimes I have no idea what I’m talking about (as in dumb). I actually kinda thought I was pretty much like that too, but not anymore because after much soul searching and contemplation I have had a revelation. I have finally found the true, the only, the “real” me.

Now that I'm done running and flopping around outside, and I'm wet and freezing, I have this very strong urge to start throwing things. Wonder what that means...

Are you out of cream for your coffee????????

I think it means you're out meds. Shame on those that would label you as witchy, sarcastic, snotty and uncaring.:) We all know what an angel you really are.:):)
Just wondering, how did you get the yellow snow for your halo?

Anonymous said...

I think the halo came from tooooo much beer (along with the idea in the first place). Dad keeps telling me that I take after you. Scary! Anyway, glad you got out of the house, even if the reason was to make yellow snow.

I can always count on a smile after reading your blog.

Love the Halo, very creative!!

Flydragon, I feel your pain. The snow is disgusting, but more so, the bitter cold has got me down.

As for the adjectives used to describe you: it takes one to know one. That's why I love it here.

And Mildred? hahahahahaha.

Is it wrong that I'm jealous of your snow angel? I suppose I could have tried to make a snow angel in the snow that stuck to the ice on the beaver ponds...

I know lots of angels...they're those folks who are always up in the air and harping...haha. Not you, though, you're the down-to-earth kind as evidenced by your indentation in the snow. Thanks for the cute picture.

Mildred,
Nope, not out of cream. I made sure I stocked up on that for when Harriet comes.

Di,
If I'm not mistaken, and I don't think I am, you were one of those who attached those labels to me.
A little photoshop made the halo. Too bad it couldn't make the angel too, so I could have stayed warm and dry.

Fla brat,
Out of the house, a flop on the ground, back in the house. Whoo hoo.

T,
Had to put the halo there otherwise nobody would believe I was an angel. They could of/would of said it was some sort of creature instead. I know how they think.

Rudee,
I can take the snow, but when it stays soooo cold for soooo long it drives me crazy. Could you tell??

I did kind of see you in some of those nice descriptions too.

DG,
I do think you should try to make an angel on the frozen pond. In fact, take a running leap and with arms outstretched flop down as hard as you can. Better have L or Z hold the camera in case it's not quite as frozen as you think it is.

Betty,
Is this one of those thinly veiled comments where you're actually calling me a harpy but pretending not to? Hmmm?? Actually I kind of like that word, harpy. I should have included in my list.

When you show us a whole Choir of snow angels we will know you have got the FEVER! :)

Well I'm just sitting here looking at this screen and hoping for something witty to say.................nope, nothing coming to mind. So I'll just say I hope you have a lovely evening flydragon.

I'm pretty sure that's the best snow angel I've ever seen!C'mon...you've been practicing, haven't you?!

Smirk, wonder if snow angels work on green grass?

Cabin Fever? Sounds more like cabin plague. :} Although that is a lovely Angel.

Nunya said...

i remember the last time you made a snow angel... are you sure you're not mixing a little alcohol in with that cabin fever?

i've been drinking vodka & cranberry juice almost every day. what the hell else is there to do?

flydragon said...

Farside,
I was dumb enough to do one, no way is there going to be a choir.

Susie,
Nope, nothing witty from me now either. Does that mean I'm just a half-wit?

Spooky,
I practiced on the living room floor before I went outside. Does that count?

Rositta,
Hi, thanks for visiting. I checked out your blog, and sure enough that snow would gobble you right up if you tried any angels there.

Jen,
Hmmm, rubbing it in are you? I'm not quite sure who thinks I'm snotty, (you perhaps?) but I do know for sure who thinks you're being snotty right now.

KALI,
Ha, you missed it. I was flying back into the house after making this stupid angel.

Beckie,
You're right!! It's more than just a fever. Plague for sure!!

I have to admit, it is one of my better ones:)

NVAM,
I forgot all about that one. Good thing no one had a camera handy that time.
Maybe I should try some of that cranberry cocktail.

LOL, I'm sure you are an angel, Flydragon:) But I do have some advice for you: brush that snow off your car and get out of the house! I finally left my house after 5 days and discovered there is a whole other world out there. Cabin fever can lead to more serious illnesses, I believe.

Anonymous said...

After second thought, I don't really think that is a snow angel. I think you fell down and as you were flailing (is that really a word--please look it up for me) around trying to get up, the "angel" was the result. Yes, NVAM I think alcohol was involved.

If you got out of your famous robe to make this picture, you can't have cabin fever:-) And if you were, in fact, in your famous robe to make this picture, there is really something wrong there!!!

Hang in--Spring's not too far away!

Rose,
I did try to get my car out of that mess yesterday. But it was too cold and too difficult so I gave up. Angel or not, this old grey mare ain't what she used to be, so I'm afraid it will have to wait a while longer.

fla BRAT,
Asked #2 about that last angel did you? I wish there would have been a little toddy involved, but no there wasn't.

Nan,
I did actually consider doing it in my robe at the time, but finally came to my senses and changed first. So does that mean I'm only half crazy?

Nice halo. (Hmmm, looks kinda like a yellow ring of...no way! it's not...no, it can't be!) :~P

Anonymous said...

Hey I think they might call you a dumb angel. Anyone making snow angels in this zero and below temps. has to be a little crazy, but cabin fever will do that to you. Middle sis

flydragon said...

TC,
Nope, it isn't.

Betty,
It's one of those things that seem like a good idea at the time, but...... Brrrrrr.

Jan said...

Ahh, Flydragon, I'm sorry you're feeling cranky:) It happens to all of us--just force a smile and see what happens (probably not much:)--but: I find that if I make myself get out I feel better:) Even when it's cold. Bundle up and take a walk through your garden or on the snowy road, if you can't get your car out;) I get cabin fever and I don't even have snow. That's why it's good to distract yourself from the routine. I'm good at sayin' it but still working on doin' it;p

flydragon said...

Hi Jan,
I know that's good advice. And when I get up in the mornings I have all kinds of good intentions. I tell myself that as soon as it gets light out, I will go out. But then it's as soon as it gets a little warmer, I'll go. Then it's I'll wait until the winds dies down a bit, then it's ..........
But maybe I'll actually get out today. Still can't get the car out, but maybe I will take a walk.
Maybe not:)

Aaah flydragon - you may have cabin fever, but I am LONGING for some snow! I dream of making snow angels (- with or without the yellow halo!)and all I get is rain, cold, rain, drizzle, cold, sleet, rain, mist, cold, rain - yep, I'm English!
I love your blog, it made me smile and cheered up yet another cold, wet day! Thank you.

flydragon said...

Hi Nutty,
I'm glad I could cheer you up, since I'm not very cheery myself right about now:) Be very careful what you wish for. I wished for a little snow and got buried instead. Now I'm wishing for a little rain to melt away all this white stuff. Hmmm. Maybe I better be careful about wishing too.

I checked out your blog, too. What an energetic and inventive person you are!!!! Rolling those huge bolders uphill!!! Amazing. I'll be checking back on your progress.
