Still Hanging In There

A few surprises hanging in here in the middle of August.
The first is this Verbena. Usually by this time of year all my Verbenas are in the trash heap. Loaded with powdery mildew and totally wilted. But... looking good

How about this Lantana. Still full and healthy...

How about these window boxes. Still going like gangbusters..

And last... how about the view from my favorite sitting place....

Oh, and one more thing
Yes, I'm still hanging in there too.:))

That last photo is beautiful. I'll come and sit with you;) My geraniums and tomatoes were the only annuals that didn't do well this year. Everything else loves this cool, wet weather. Your potted plants are thriving.

I have been worried about you Flydragon! It thrilled me to see your new post come up. What pretty flowers you have. Those window boxes are so full and colorful. We are having a lot of hummingbird activity right how - how about you? I think about you often - drop me a line sometime.

Whee - good to hear from you! I'm glad to hear that you are hanging in there, too! What gorgeous flower beds!

Yea! For your beautiful flowers, but mostly for your return to us.
You sure did a good job. Mine were only so/so this year. The Japanese Beetles were fierce this year. My geraniums are slowly making a comback now that they're gone. Hope you are feeling better. I heard that Hersheys Kisses are great rejuvenaters. :D

Gorgeous planters FD! You must keep up with watering much better than I.

We've missed you! Glad to see you are still here. This has been a great year for annuals-mine are still doing well too. I love the peach verbena. I had some but the million bells I had planted with it crowded it out. If I can find peach again next year, it will get it's own container. Your favorite spott has a wonderful view. You did good. :)

I can see why you wouldn't want to be in front of a computer when you have these beauties to look at. Enjoy!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!! You're right about the verbena--it really has remained gorgeous--as well as all the other ones. Is that your beautiful coral-colored hydrangia (sp?) in the last shot?

Great that you're back online--obviously everyone else feels the same:-)

Marnie,
You're welcome to come sit with me, but you'd better hurry. I don't think these blooms will be here much longer:)

Hi Mildred,
Don't worry about me! I'm more worried about you and Nalley! Hummers haven't shown up here much until Wed. They're very late this year for me. Hopefully since they're late, they'll stay longer:)

Becca,
Yep, they're still hanging in there. The last few days have been very hot though, so I hope they can hold out till it cools off a bit.

Hi DG,
Good to be heard:))

Di,
I've heard that about Hersheys, too. Let's hope that rumour is a true one:)))

TC,
You forget, that I have Betty Boop:)

Susie,
It is a great place to sit out and relax, after all the watering is done:)

Hi Connie,
Those red thingys are Cardinal flowers. Haven't been doing their job much though because Hummers are supposed to love them and haven't been drawing very many of them yet. Works for the bees though, darn:) I'm glad to be hanging in there too:)

FD3,
Better hurry then so you can start caring for them.

Beckie,
I just love that verbena. Sorry you lost yours:(

Brenda,
They did work out good this year. Must have been great weather for annuals.

Herrad,
Hello back to you and I certainly hope you're having a good day too!!

Life,
Ha, I have a very hard time getting anything done inside. Any excuse works:))

Trout,
Thanks. Glad to be back. Even tho I haven't commented on others, I still read and enjoy them.

Rositta,
Ha, I just showed pictures of the parts that weren't neglected:)

Nan,
Yep, that's the hydra. Every year it's a slightly different shade. Always looks good though.
